November 27th, 1986 was the day that Cliff and I got married by the Justice of the Peace in Big Spring, Texas. It was Thanksgiving Day at his mom and dad's house and our son, Clay, was sleeping in the bedroom during the ceremony!Cliff was working for his dad, Homer, at Auto Parts of Big Spring and we spent Thanksgiving dinner with his parents and sisters after the ceremony. That evening we drove to Midland, Texas for a "mini-honeymoon" because he had to be back at work by 1:00pm the next day.
The dress I wore was borrowed from Deanne, Suzanne gave me a pretty garter to wear and Joanne baked us a beautiful wedding cake. It was a very small ceremony with just the Tomerlin's and my step-sister's family (Janet is carrying her first~Chelsea!), but it was so sweet and we felt very blessed to be together again and so much in love!
